Epcot Flower and Garden Festival 2016

My Cute Cajun Hubby and I were able to spend last Saturday at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. I was fortunate enough to visit Epcot with my friend Squirrel before the festival began in late February.

I can’t tell you how excited I was to be back in May when the festival was in “full bloom”.

My very first stop in Epcot is always the same. I walk directly to the Leave-A-Legacy tile I share with my younger brother George.

We traveled together on a trip sixteen years ago in the year 2000 and choosing to Leave-A-Legacy was included in our package at the time, along with free mini golf at the Fantasia course, and the Disney Dining Plan! Ahhhh! Memories!

I’m so grateful we chose to create a tile. That trip to Disney was the only trip we have ever taken just the two of us. We haven’t lived in the same state for the last sixteen years. I love that we are together at Epcot every day rain or shine.
Then it’s on to look at the Welcome topiary in front of Spaceship Earth. This years topiary features Daisy Duck bringing out her artistic side with her paint brush and bounty of vegetables.

Donald Duck and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie complete with garden tools are on the other side.

There are so many beautiful flowers and plants at the festival to see but I must admit the character topiaries are my favorite.

Chip and Dale have found the perfect spot to enjoy a sandwich.

But don’t even think about asking for a bite!

Ranger Mickey can be found sporting a pith helmet and binoculars to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service.

Minnie Mouse and Pluto welcome you into Showcase Plaza.

Anna and Elsa are holding court in Norway. The Norway  pavilion is under construction and is expected to open in June 2016 with a new ride called Frozen Ever After it will be a replacement for the Maelstrom ride that featured a journey through the legend and history of Norway. I’m excited to see what is in store.

All of your Lion King favorites can be found near the Outpost including the iconic image of Rafiki holding Simba as a cub.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are located in Germany. I absolutely love the detail on Snow White.

Lady’s ears are my favorite part of this darling topiary of Lady and the Tramp in Italy.

Woody is rounding up guest in the America Pavilion.

Belle and the Beast as well as Cinderella and Prince Charming can all be found dancing their way through France on a lovely spring day!

Peter Pan has found an excellent spot to hide from Captain Hook.

Look out Hook!!! I spy a hungry Tic Toc near by!

Winnie the Pooh and Friends are also enjoying the United Kingdom.
Some of Mickey’s Friends can be found along side of the Children’s Playground.

You never know who you find traveling through the festival!

As I am taking in all of the topiaries I love stopping by all of the Outdoor Kitchens and sampling the food. Small plates and specialty drinks are offered for purchase in any one of the thirteen Outdoor Kitchens.

Epcot even gives you a passport to collect your stamps as you eat your way around the world.

Here are a few shots of the dishes we tried from all parts of the globe.

I had a wonderful time at this years Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. I loved their gift to the Annual Passholders this year. They offered a free print of Goofy, Donald, and Mickey each month of the festival.

I was thrilled to get a Mickey print for the month of May. I can’t wait to hang him in my new kitchen. It’s safe to say that this years festival is coming up roses!

Aloha & Xoxo,

Kate
