California Grill ~ Brunch At The Top

Brunch is always a good idea…

Let’s face it Disney is too. So when you get the opportunity to combine both a little bit of magic happens.

The California Grill – Brunch At The Top is my new favorite dining experience. Even though it’s a little on the pricey side ($80 for adults and $48 for children) The value can’t be beat.

Your visit starts with complimentary valet parking at The Contemporary Resort. Normally valet parking at the resort will set you back $33.

After you have checked in on the second floor and have taken the elevator to the top you are greeted with a bottomless Mimosa. (Yes, you read that right a bottomless Mimosa) another great value because most drinks on Disney property average around 10 bucks a piece.

Once you make your way to the table you are given a menu to select your entrée.

After selecting your entrées it’s time to make your way to the buffet.

The buffet has several tasty selections starting with a large charcuterie board.

You will find all the tastiest meats and cheeses right here along with the best house made pickles, jams, and mustards.

Next up is the sushi bar. The California Grill is known for their sushi so it’s an obvious choice to be on their brunch buffet. Most of their rolls are priced anywhere from $22-$24 for eight pieces. To be able to fill plate after plate with all of my sushi favorites was definitely a win for me.

The buffet also has several yummy salads.

Pastries

(Check out that view of cinderella’s castle just beyond those guava turnovers.)

Smoked salmon bar with toppings

And deviled eggs

After enjoying a few trips to the buffet our entrées arrived. Craig ordered the Grilled Flat Iron Steak and Eggs

I couldn’t decide between the U-10 Shrimp

Or the Lobster Eggs Benedict

So our waiter brought both. The U-10 Shrimp were wonderful but I also loved my Lobster Eggs Benedict .

The steak was a little too chewy but the eggs were perfect.

The one thing I loved about our experience was how relaxing it was. You are not rushed at all. You have time to sip your coffee or Mimosa and enjoy the musicians playing your Disney favorites.

Finally, just when you think you can’t eat another bite they drop off a tower of desserts.

Since we were there for my birthday celebration they added a pink candle for me to make a wish.

The desserts were fantastic! The macaroons are similar to the ones you find at the tea room in the Grand Floridian and they are delightful. I also loved their hand crafted chocolates and their house made chocolate bark.

Because we had enjoyed so many trips to the buffet and our entrées we couldn’t make a dent in our dessert tower but our waiter happily boxed the rest of our treats so that we could enjoy them at home.

I would give Brunch At The Top A 10 out of 10 and I can’t wait to return.

Aloha & Xoxo,

Kate
