Have you “Popped” into Pop Century lately?
I had the pleasure of staying at Pop Century during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.
Truth be told I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect… It had been 10 years since I had stayed in this particular resort.
To my surprise they are currently undergoing a refurbishment.
Let’s take a walk down memory lane and see what the old rooms looked like.
And who can forget this charmingly small bathroom?
I am thrilled to say that I absolutely adore the update. It gives me Bay Lake Tower Vibes at a value resort price.
The room feels very spacious because they have added a Murphy bed. During the day it looks like a normal table and chair set.
When it’s time for bed you simply remove the chairs and pull the bed down.
It has the cutest artwork of Pluto inside. I really like that they have opted for hardwood floors and have removed the carpeting.
The curtains provide a nice “pop” of color.
The bed has been upgraded from a full to a queen. The Mickey Mouse artwork above is simply darling!
Outlets are now available in the headboard. The nightstands are mounted to the walls giving the room for more spacious look.
Another cool feature of the room is the coffee nook. Everything you need to make a cup of Joe on the go is located in the drawer above the glass door refrigerator. YESSSSS…. I said glass door refrigerator…FANCY!!!
Pop has also added a regular trash receptacle and a recycling bin.
The bathroom is a dream come true… Talk about well appointed space.
They have included plenty of shelves to store your personal items. Each family member can have their own special place for their toiletries.
The closet is slim but I thought it offered plenty of space to store the essentials.
The shower now has a sliding glass door instead of a shower curtain.
But my favorite feature in the bathroom update has got to be the sliding pocket door.
The old room design had a shower curtain that separated the bathroom from the bedroom making it difficult to get ready in the morning while your other family members were still resting. Now with the addition of the pocket door you have two separate rooms.
A large flatscreen television is perfect for watching Disney movies and relaxing after a long day at the parks. It’s mounted on the wall above the sleek new dresser.
I really love the updated rooms. I stayed in the 90s building.
The refurbishment is currently a work in progress and should be completed over the next year.
I also shot a quick video to get the overall feel of the room.

Pop Century has definitely “popped” into a special place in my heart after this revamp.
